OVERVIEW
What Is Korean Scar Treatment?
Korean scar treatment is a personalised dermatology approach that assesses the structure, behaviour and healing pattern of each scar before selecting treatment. Raised scars, depressed scars, keloids and acne scars do not respond to the same procedure.
Depending on the assessment, a plan may include radiofrequency microneedling, scar-focused injections, pigment-targeting treatment, skin renewal or staged supportive care. Most scars cannot be erased completely, but suitable treatment may help improve their texture, thickness, colour, firmness or visibility over time.
Who Is This Treatment Suitable For?
This treatment may be suitable for people with:
- Raised hypertrophic scars
- Keloid-prone or thickened scar tissue
- Atrophic scars or sunken scar depressions
- Acne pits, enlarged pores or uneven post-acne texture
- Surgical or traumatic scars
- Red, itchy, firm or uncomfortable raised scars
- Pigmentation or uneven colour around a scar
- Scars that remain visibly uneven after healing
- A need for a personalised dermatologist-led scar treatment plan
Dr. Yoonseok Oh will assess scar type, scar age, depth, redness, firmness, symptoms, keloid tendency, skin tone, pigmentation risk, previous treatments and healing response before recommending a plan.
How Is Korean Scar Treatment Different?
Korean scar treatment at MeOne Aesthetic Clinic begins with scar classification rather than applying the same device to every scar. The treatment plan is personalised after consultation with Dr. Yoonseok Oh, Korean Specialist Dermatologist.
Scar Type Diagnosis
The first step is to determine whether the scar is raised, depressed, keloid-like, acne-related, surgical, traumatic, pigmented or mixed.
Raised Scar and Keloid Management
Selected hypertrophic scars and keloids may require targeted injection treatment to help soften raised tissue and improve redness, firmness, itching or discomfort when clinically appropriate.
Texture and Collagen Remodelling Support
Depressed scars, acne pits and uneven texture may require treatments that support controlled collagen remodelling and gradual surface improvement.
Pigmentation-Risk Assessment
Treatment depth, energy settings and aftercare are adjusted according to skin tone, scar activity, sensitivity and the risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation.
Staged Treatment Planning
Laser treatment, radiofrequency microneedling, scar injections and pigment-focused care may be combined or staged only when clinically appropriate.
What Treatment Options May Be Included?
A personalised Korean scar treatment plan may include one or more options depending on scar type, depth, redness, firmness, pigmentation, healing history and individual suitability.
Stellar M22
Selected Stellar M22 settings may be considered for scar redness, post-inflammatory pigmentation or uneven colour. It does not remove scar tissue itself.
Morpheus8
Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy and may support collagen remodelling in selected depressed acne scars, enlarged pores and uneven texture.
TRI-BEAM Premium
TRI-BEAM Premium may be considered for selected pigmentation associated with scars, depending on pigment depth, skin type and scar condition.
Jeisys Edge ONE Fractional CO₂ Laser
Jeisys Edge ONE uses fractional CO₂ laser technology for selected depressed scars, including acne scars, enlarged pores and uneven skin texture. Suitability depends on scar type, skin tone and pigmentation risk.
Scar Injection Treatment
Scar-focused injections may be considered for selected hypertrophic scars or keloids to help soften raised tissue and improve firmness, redness, itching or discomfort.
JANUS Pro Digital Skin Assessment
JANUS Pro may support documentation of pigmentation, pores and the skin surrounding a scar. It supports consultation but does not replace clinical scar assessment.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
What types of scars can be treated?
Selected hypertrophic scars, atrophic scars, keloids, surgical scars, traumatic scars and acne scars may be assessed for treatment.

Complete scar removal cannot be guaranteed. Treatment usually aims to improve texture, thickness, colour, firmness, symptoms or visibility.

Scar injection treatment involves placing suitable medication into selected raised scar tissue to help soften thickness, firmness, redness, itching or discomfort.
Can microneedling help acne scars?
Radiofrequency microneedling may support collagen remodelling in selected depressed acne scars and uneven texture. Suitability depends on scar type and skin condition.
